A child leaps a wave as it rolls up on to the beach.


She seems to propel herself into the air with little or no effort as she enjoys her play. She is completely absorbed in the moment. It is just her and the ocean.

Marine Comes Home

My son-in-law left home on Jan 5th with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. His daughter was 3 days old when he left. He returned on July 1. It was a wonderful reunion for him, my daughter and the baby. My wife and I were excited to be a small part of this day. I was blessed to be there to take some pictures. Praise God for those you love as you view these photos. Be careful not to take your loved ones for granted. Cherish every moment.

Nothing stays the same

The rusted tobacco barn shows the change that has come to Brunswick County Virgina. Once family farms thrived raising tobacco. Today, there are few tobacco farmers left.

Something old, something new

It is fun to see then things of the past. And, it is intriguing to try and invision yourself living then.



BUT, I like the techno present!

The beauty of an afternoon sunset is a joy to behold. This picture was taken on the Cherry Point Marine Air Station. While we are able to enjoy such beauty, Marines and other branches of our armed forces are out there -- across the world -- in Iraq and other places defending and fighting for FREEDOM. Support them. Pray for them.

Marriage Series

On Sunday May 6, I began a lesson series on Marriage. The first lesson is entitled, "Commintment Yields Freedom." In commitment, there is freedom. This may sound like a contradiction, but when we are truly committed to something or someone, then we become free to pursue that commitment and to do what it takes to uphold and value that commitment.
